What it really costs
Most honed or polished jobs land between $160 and $210 per m2 installed, incl. GST. Under about 20 m2 a $2,500 minimum job charge applies, and larger pours earn a better rate as fixed costs spread. Get your exact range in the estimator below.

Resealing
Reseal every 2 to 5 years depending on traffic and exposure. Interior polished floors go longer.
Day to day
A pH-neutral cleaner and a mop or soft broom. Skip acidic or heavily alkaline products, they dull the sealer.

What moves the number
The range assumes a typical Perth sand pad with straight access. These are what push a job to the top of it, or past it.
- What is under the surface. Rock or deep fill turns half a day of digging into two, and never shows from the street.
- Levels and drainage. A fall to build, or water that needs somewhere to go, is prep before any concrete turns up.
- Engineering and soil reports. Some builds need an engineered slab, specified by others and priced by others.
- Council crossover permits. The verge belongs to the council, and their paperwork sets that price, not us.

What's the difference between honed and polished?
Honed concrete is ground flat and sealed, usually matte or satin, and it's the standard for outdoors. Polished concrete is refined further with finer diamonds for a glossier floor, best suited indoors. We'll recommend the right one for the space.
Is honed concrete slippery when wet?
A matte hone with an anti-slip additive in the sealer performs well around pools. High-gloss polish is an indoor finish, we don't recommend it around water.
Why does honed cost more than other finishes?
It's two jobs in one: a careful pour, then days of mechanical grinding, honing and sealing with diamond tooling. You're paying for machine time and craft, and it shows in the floor.
Can you hone our existing slab?
Sometimes. It depends on the concrete's age, hardness and what stone is in it. A site visit and a small test grind gives a straight answer before you commit.
