Recent work

Some of what we have poured

Institutional and public-realm jobs. Residential work lives in the project gallery.

ECU Joondalup Curved plywood formwork with timber kickers, set out for the seating walls before the pour at Edith Cowan University in Joondalup
Finished curved concrete seating walls with hardwood timber tops and a shadow gap, in the Edith Cowan University Joondalup courtyard
The same courtyard at night, the concealed strip lighting washing the concrete under the timber seat tops
Curved cast-in-situ seating walls at Edith Cowan University, Joondalup. Our formwork set out on site, the finished walls with their shadow gap and hardwood timber cap, and the courtyard after dark with the concealed strip lighting doing its job. Decorative in-situ work is what the name is about.
Majella Primary School Grey concrete footpath winding between mulched native garden beds and timber bollards at Majella Primary School in Balga
Curved grey concrete path running out to a larger paved area past new planting at Majella Primary School
Broad grey concrete apron edged to limestone rocks and garden beds outside the Majella Primary School undercroft
Grey concrete paths and paved areas at Majella Primary School in Balga, poured around live buildings and tied into new landscaping. Not glamorous work, but it is most of what a school or council actually needs: set out around what is already there, finished flat, and edged so the planting can go straight back in.
St Brigid's Primary School Concrete half court and vertical backboard wall at St Brigid's Primary School in Midland, finished and painted with court markings and two hoops
Sports surface and backboard wall at St Brigid's Primary School in Midland. We poured and finished the slab and the wall flat enough and true enough to take a painted court, which is the part that decides whether the line marking looks right afterwards.
PLC Pale exposed aggregate open space at PLC in Peppermint Grove, set square to a red brick surround with granite feature stones and a fire bowl
Exposed aggregate terrace steps at PLC, treads running between brick risers to a curved edge
Exposed aggregate open space and terrace steps at PLC in Peppermint Grove. The open space is one pour landing square to an existing brick surround on all four sides, with the feature stones and bowl set into it. The steps run the same finish as treads between brick risers, out to a curved edge. Gathering space rather than trafficable area, so it is the set-out and the edges that get looked at, every day, by a lot of people.
Hollywood Private Hospital Exposed aggregate forecourt at Hollywood Private Hospital in Nedlands, a pale edge band curving around the planted bed
The same exposed aggregate paving sweeping past the black cockatoo mural, edge band following the bed line
Exposed aggregate through the entry forecourt at Hollywood Private Hospital in Nedlands, with a pale edge band struck against the darker aggregate and curved to follow the garden beds. Same finish we put on driveways, run at building scale and to a set-out that has to land on the bed line every time.
Pilbara Steel moulds for the seating plinths set up in a fabrication workshop, ready to cast
Two coloured concrete seating plinths either side of a war memorial obelisk on new coloured concrete paving
A finished plinth with its hardwood bench top and backrest fitted, tapered sides catching the light
The finished plinths in line on the coloured concrete forecourt, with the memorial screen and the highway beyond
Precast seating plinths with hardwood tops, cast for a memorial forecourt in the Pilbara. The steel moulds were built for the job by a supporting sub-contractor, which is what makes every unit come out the same: square, sharp on the arris, and repeatable. The concrete is coloured for the Pilbara, so it sits with the red ground rather than fighting it.
Pilbara
Our crew machine trowel finishing a basketball court near Karratha, in the north west. We are Perth based and this is a long way from it, which is the point: if the job is right, we travel for it.

A project list with references comes with it.

Decorative work for a landscaping or display package runs the same finishes as our residential jobs: exposed aggregate , liquid limestone , honed or polished and plain and coloured . Rates and a live estimator sit on the finishes pages, and recent work is in the project gallery.
